Paving is the part of a garden people touch every day, so it is the part worth over-engineering. We compact in layers, screed to a consistent fall away from the house, and cut on site so the edges sit flush every time.

- Exposed aggregate & liquid limestone Poured, sealed and cut so it does not craze across the middle of your alfresco.
- Clay & concrete paver laying Herringbone, stack bond, stretcher — laid on 30mm of screed over compacted road base.
- Crossovers & driveways Built to the local council’s specification, with the paperwork lodged for you.
- Drainage & soakwells Sized to the roof and paving area they actually serve, not to whatever fits the hole.
Limestone is the Perth material — used properly
Limestone is everywhere here because it suits the climate and the ground, but it is unforgiving of a lazy base. We excavate to firm sand, lay and compact road base in 100mm lifts, and set the first course dead level before anything else goes on top. Walls over 500mm get engineering drawings and a council submission — we will tell you upfront if yours needs it, rather than after the inspector arrives.

Do I need council approval for a retaining wall?
In most Perth councils, anything over 500mm high, or any wall on a boundary that supports a neighbour’s ground, needs approval. We prepare the drawings and lodge them as part of the job.
How long before I can walk and drive on it?
Paving is ready to walk immediately and to drive on the next day. Poured concrete and liquid limestone need seven days before vehicles.
Will the limestone stain?
Untreated limestone marks from leaf litter and reticulation over-spray. We seal every job on handover and the maintenance plans include a re-seal every second year.
