West-facing is the Perth problem worth solving
A large share of Perth blocks put the main living area on the western side, which is unusable from 3pm through summer. The fix is rarely a bigger roof — it is the right combination of an angled batten screen, deciduous planting on the hot corner, and a deck level that lets air move under it. We model the shade across the day before pricing anything, so you are buying afternoons outside rather than square metres of roof.

Do I need a building permit for a pergola?
In most cases yes, once it is attached to the house or over a certain area. We handle engineering, drawings and the council lodgement as part of the quote.
Jarrah or composite?
Jarrah looks better and costs less upfront but wants an oil every 12–18 months. Composite costs more and never gets that patina, but it is genuinely maintenance-free and stays cooler underfoot in the sun.
Can you match an existing patio roof?
